In 'Krantiveer - The Revolution', Jahan plays the daughter of Patekar, hence taking the story forward where she plays a journalist who leads a revolution against terrorism, violence and corruption.\"99 per cent actresses debut with a romantic movies with songs and dances. I asked myself if I too wanted to follow a conventional approach and the answer was 'no'. I know the risks are bigger but, the benefits are much higher,\" Jahan told reporters.\"I don't want to be monotonous and instead demonstrate my calibre by playing a role that other actresses out there would possibly get after working in five or six films,\" she added. However, the pretty girl insists that despite the revolution angle, the film is not on the same lines as Mani Rathnam's 'Yuva' which had a similar theme - that of youth taking the system and corruption heads-on.\"I agree that the film is about that section of youth which cares for the country and thinks about it's future. My character (Roshni) acts as a pivot for the revolution and gets along her other college mates who have the same mission. However, there is no similarity with 'Yuva' here,\" said Jahan. Incidentally, Jahan Bloch is not new to arc lights. Exactly a decade back, she played the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Pradha in 'Kohraam' (1999). Both 'Kohraam' and 'Krantiveer - The Revolution' have been directed by Mehul Kumar. For Jahan, while songs and romantic portions - which were in bare minimum quantity - came naturally and were relatively easier, the bigger challenge lied in the dramatic scenes. \"To be yourself is quite easy because as a youngster, I too love to hang out in real life. To depict that part of Roshni was easy. However, I had to apply myself much more in the dramatic scenes of the film\", says Jahan who was handed over a lengthy dialogue sheet for the climax sequence, \"It stays on to be one of the most memorable scenes of all in the film.\"Starring Samir Aftab as the main lead along with Kelly Dorji, Ranjit, Farida Jalal, Govind Namdeo, Mukesh Rishi, Aman Verma, Aditya Singh Rajput and Harsh, 'Krantiveer - The Revolution' releases on June 25.
